Synapse2, (the only version compatable with mac) hasnt been updated in at least5-6 years, and is missing alot of features that windows users enjoy. Ive spent hundreds of dollars on their products myself, and while I do enjoy the performance and endless features when I use these with my pc, Its sooo. I am disappointed there isn't cross platform support, will there ever be cross platform support or should return my keyboard for another?Īre newer devices also compatible with Synapse 2?Īnybody reading this post, if you are a mac user and you value having secure and up to date software and firmware for your devices, then it pains me to say, look elswhere.
I just purchased my Blackwidow Elite and would like to use it for work too which is Mac. # To launch the script every time you login with yout UserĬp _ist ~/Library/LaunchAgents/īetter Instruction in /5h5k2s78īayMediumTaupecool318 It would be great if we could get some traction on adding support Mac OS X for Synapse 3. Sudo rm -rf /Library/Developer/CommandLineToolsĬreate a shell script named "usb_reset.sh":īefore the end of the script I use this command to exit the Synapse 2 app from the menu bar. # Synapse in Offline mode in order to not to interfere with my BetterTouchTool and Karabiner setups. # Now you see Synapse Icon in Menu bar Open it and Update to version 188.20 # Install Razer Razer_Synapse_Mac_Driver_v1.87.dmg Now in order to Synapse be able to discover your devices you need to unplug and plug your devices. So for that I had to install Synapse 1.87, update it and to be able to recognized then disconnect the usb cable and connect again. I now want to be able to map and change Macro keys in my Keyboard and the small buttons in my Mamba behind the scroll not to change sensitivity stage and use them for keyboard function. It's free.Īnd also I use BetterTouchTool to configure different behavior for the Mamba mouse buttons in different applications. I genuinely wish this approach would change within' the near future, I like the Razer ecosystem but I can't keep pouring so much time towards trying to make the hardware work instead of using it.I use Karabiner Elements to change my keyboard key mapping or Tartarus key mapping. With Apple now pushing Apple Arcade and Google Stadia rising upon us I think that giving the MacOS build a bit more attention would make customers happy which will result with better feedback/recommendations which will lead customers towards purchasing more Razer-branded products thus more in-depth into the Razer ecosystem. It's clear that macOS wasn't built for gaming with that being said there are still quite a bit of "macOS gamers" Steam has 16,000,000 daily logins 2.66% of that is 425,600 MacOS users per day. Ignoring such issues might result in customers leaving bad reviews/recommending different brands to friends and family. I find it quite ridiculous as if Razer genuinely doesn't care about customers that use a Linux based operating system at this point, it's clear that if you (the customer) wishes to adopt one of these products on a MacOS system, the best option would be to use the hardware without the Synapse software due to the lack of optimisation, thermal throttling (which results with the entire system slowing down), software hiccups, every other function failing to work and general lack of interest from the Razer development team furthermore the QA support. Within those emails, several other bug reports were included which are yet to be mended. The lack of support towards MacOS users is ABYSMAL it took the Razer development team close to 4 months just to make the Synapse software launchable on Mojave AFTER exchanging various amounts of emails with the software support division. I'm still attempting to contact the Razer development team hoping to address various amounts of bugs about MacOS build of Synapse 2. RazerThe_Fiend There are no plans for a Mac version as of today Synapse 3 might not ever be released on Mac OS? Am I reading this correctly?
